Disabled American Veterans, the organization known as DAV, has as their motto and single purpose, "Building Better Lives for America's Disabled Veterans and Their Families." Since World War I, DAV has provided professional services including helping veterans obtain benefits and making sure veterans have rides to and from VA Hospitals. About 200,000 disabled veterans and their families are served annually. One of the ways money is raised is by selling donated clothes, furniture and household items at the DAV Thrift Stores or by dropping clothes or shoes in the DAV bins. I pulled from the closet, the basement, and the garage and mangaged to load my car with donated items.
