Day 79 - Community Giving Day

Whole Foods Market, where great food and
recyclable bags help kids get treatment

Spofford Home is a hopeful place where children ages 4-12 can get on their feet again with therapeutic services and loving care.  On January 12, they were the lucky beneficiary of the Community 5% Day at Whole Foods Market at 91st and Metcalf in Overland Park, Kansas.  At Spofford, the kids living in the residential facility have access to mentors and teachers who help them with issues of neglect or abuse, mental illness or abandonment.  The ultimate goal is to have the children return to a family home.  I loaded up my grocery cart at Whole Foods on January 12th.
