Day 71 - Soles4Souls

One pair of shoes at a time, Soles4Souls has changed the world.  Founder and CEO of the company, Wayne Elsey, spearheaded this monumental program to get shoes to people who desperately need them. He began in 2004 with sending shoes to survivors of the Southeast Asian tsunami. Since then, the organization has outfitted the needy with footwear in 125 countries, among them Haiti, Tanzania, Honduras, and the USA, including those who lost everything in Hurricane Katrina.  New or gently worn shoes can be donated or $1 will buy a pair of shoes through Soles4Souls.  Look at their website and watch the numbers of pairs of shoes donated grow - 12,760,900 - as if this writing.  This year's goal alone is for 11 million pairs of shoes to be sent around the globe.

  1. Hey Diane!

Thank you so much for highlighting our cause as a way for people to change lives with the shoes they never wear!

I can assure you that Mark's shoes will definitely give hope to someone around the world who has never owned a pair of shoes!
