Day 6 - Torah Fund

Made a donation to the annual Torah Fund, a fundraiser for the Jewish Theological Seminary, the academic and spiritual center of Conservative Judaism.   Great place to learn and also to become a rabbi!

Day 5 - Trunk or Treat

The students of Research College of Nursing (go Rachel!) open their trunks every year so that the neighborhood kids can trick or treat.   Cathy L and I had so much fun handing out candy to the costumed kids. Two for them, one for us. . .

Day 4 - Super Safety Kit

On the Good Knight website, a link from AARP,  I bought the book & DVD set, Keeping America's Families Safe.  It educates kids about bullying and predators, both online and in their neighborhoods.  Proceeds from the book & DVD go toward the Good Knight Empowerment Network.

Day 3 - Cookies for Firemen

Brody loves to visit the fire station.  We baked Halloween cookies for the firemen and they let him open the huge garage door!

Day 2 - Cups of Hope

I purchased some Dannon Yogurt, opened the lid, copied the code onto their website, and Dannon made a donation to the National Breast Cancer Foundation.  http.//www.cupsofhope.com/  How easy and healthy was that!

Day 1 - Coats for refugees

Two of my coats will now keep others warm and dry for the cold weather approaching. They were donated as part of the JVS coat drive.  Among the services the Jewish Vocational Service provides is resettling refugees in Kansas City.  Many of these newcomers are from tropical or subtropical climates and never owned a winter coat.
